At 66 Galen Street, the lighting design brings clarity and cohesion to a once disjointed urban site, transforming it into a luminous landmark. Inspired by themes of reflection, transparency, and continuity, the lighting approach responds to the building’s angular form and expansive north-facing glazing, ensuring both visual harmony and a glowing nighttime presence. Working closely with the design team, the lighting strategy integrates varied space types using concealed, cost-effective, and glare-free lighting solutions that enhance architectural expression while supporting ease of maintenance. Decorative fixtures soften the structure’s bold geometry, and an innovative solution provides tailored lighting for a living green wall located away from natural light. A responsive control system aligns with user behavior and daylight presence, while energy efficiency drives the entire design—from targeted illumination to low power densities—resulting in a simple, sustainable, and inviting office environment.
