Dan Weissman

Dan find immense joy in collaborative and innovative sustainable lighting design. His passion for collaborating with designers of the built environment to help find the essence of their work through the medium of light has led to numerous high-profile and award-winning projects.

As Director of Lam Labs, Dan leads Lam’s endeavors in digital tools, daylighting, and education. He chairs the IES Daylighting Committee, and participates on the IES Sustainable Design Committee, Solemma’s Climate Studio Product Advisory Group, DoCoMoMo New England, the IALD professional Advancement Committee, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Flint Collective.

Dan teaches periodically at Harvard Graduate School of Design and frequently lectures at institutions nationwide and abroad. His research and publications have made contributed to the field of daylighting, including the notable studies “The Daylit Area” with Christoph Reinhart and Terek Radka, and “Heliotropic Shading: Daylighting a Rare Books Reading Room with Electrochromic Glass and Parametric Analysis,” published in Leukos in July 2023.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dan is an avid musician, woodworker, and gardener, and bakes two loaves of sourdough bread a week.
