Light Up Harvard: An Architectural Lighting Workshop with Brighter Boston

Lam Partners was proud to recently co-host the annual Brighter Boston architectural lighting design workshop with Available Light and Retonica at Harvard’s Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts—Le Corbusier’s only building in North America. The workshop was led by Lisa Wong LC, Assoc. IALD, IES; Glenn Heinmiller FIALD, CLD, LC, LEED AP; Steven Rosen, FIALD, CLD, IES; Nadia Rua; and Yvonne Chang.
Brighter Boston interns explored the connections between theatrical and architectural lighting, experimenting with form, texture, and spatial definition through light. What began as a blank canvas quickly transformed into an evening of testing, tinkering, and collaboration—revealing how illumination can shape both space and experience.
We’re honored to continue supporting Brighter Boston’s mission of guiding young adults toward meaningful careers in event production. Partnerships like these reflect the best of our profession: sharing knowledge, inspiring curiosity, and cultivating the next generation of designers.
