Located next to Louis I. Kahn’s iconic Phillips Exeter Academy Library, the Elm Street Dining Hall was also designed by this world renowned architect and completed in 1972. In recent years, the academy has been faced with the growing need to increase seating capacity and improve the kitchen, dining, and serving areas. The completed renovation carefully blends new elements into the unique historical context of the building to maintain the spirit of the original Kahn design, while improving the spatial quality and functions to meet the needs of the 21st century.
