In its relocation from Canton, MA to Boston’s Innovation and Design Building, Reebok was seeking to infuse fresh energy into its headquarters. Complementing the abundant daylight in the historic armory building, light carries through the space with a system of low-profile, indirect pendants. Bold patterns of linear downlights assist with wayfinding. In conference rooms, there is an efficient, yet striking strategy of a discreet wallwash, while linear downlights appear to magically illuminate conference tables. In showrooms, mock-up rooms, and select conference rooms, layers of tunable light were implemented, allowing for flexibility in viewing products and samples. The varying colors of light help the design team to understand how products will appear in different retail installations. Thoughtful controls were integrated, to allow flexibility, but with a user-friendly system that is intuitive and non-intimidating.
